Do you know a college student who is interested in science or agriculture, but needs more experience before starting their career? Tell them about the USDA-NIFA funded Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates (REEU) Internship at the West TN AgResearch and Education Center in Jackson, TN.

Each summer, at the West TN AgResearch and Education Center paid internships are available to those interested in learning about research and Extension efforts that support agriculture. Interns gain job-based skills and knowledge through hands-on experiences.

Interns will be paired with professors and technical staff in Plant Pathology, Entomology, Crop Physiology, Weed Science, Agronomy, and Soil Science and Fertility.  While each intern will have a ‘home’ program, everyone will get a rotation in the other disciplines to gain a holistic understanding of agriculture.

The safety and health of all involved are top priority and guidelines to protect everyone from COVID-19 are in place and will be implemented. Those interested should apply asap, as remaining spots are limited for 2020 summer, with interns starting in mid-May. Application and some additional information can be found at http://utcrops.com/people/Intern_Application.pdf.
