The first shot of the Crockett County Defoliation Trial was applied today (9/24) on Mr. Tommy Butner’s farm.  This plot is flagged on all four corners with large red bicycle flags. The northwest corner is located near coordinates:  35.810726°, -89.245217°.  Treatments include one and two shot approaches.  The plot is located just east of 7529 Tennessee 88, Friendship, TN 38034 (just west of Maury City, TN).This field is planted in PHY 444 WRF and was close to 4 NACB when applied.  Products tested include Daze (thidiazuron), Folex (tribufos), Prep (ethephon), Finish (ethephon+cyclanilide), Terminate (ethephon + cyclanilide), Ginstar (thidiazuron + diuron), ET (pyraflufen-ethyl) and Display (carfentrazone-ethyl, fluthiacet-methyl) in a number of combinations and rates.  Plots are 4 rows wide and roughly 200 ft in length.  Each plot is flagged in the northwestern corner with treatment number.  The treatment list for all 16 different combinations can be found by clicking here.
