Soybean rust was found on sentinel plot leaves from Lake and Franklin Counties.  Soybean rust pustules were present on 50% of the leaves from Lake County and 90% from Franklin County.

Both samples were from very late planted soybean fields and had low severity (Lake Co. at 1% and Franklin at 6%). To date the following counties have had confirmed soybean rust: Giles, Shelby, Madison, Cannon, Franklin, and Lake.

While most soybean sentinel plots have already matured, soybean rust will continued to be monitored for the next couple of weeks.  Any positive observation will be reported here on news.utcrops.com, the sbrusa.net website, and the UT Rust Hot Line (1-877-875-2326).
