Revisiting Irrigation for Corn and Soybean

Author:  Comments Off on Revisiting Irrigation for Corn and Soybean

Irrigation equipment is running non-stop as water use really ramps up for corn and soybeans.  I am including approximate amounts to water each week for post silking corn and beans that are entering the reproductive stages.   The “Days After Planting” to specific stages of development can be variable.  To irrigate most efficiently, check your field or have someone else check plants weekly and adjust water amounts accordingly.  Remember, for R3 through R6 soybeans, we stage plants by checking the top 4 nodes of the plant main stem for a specific pod size, presence or size of seeds, etc.
