Controlling Tillage Turnips Prior to Planting

Judging by recent phone calls the tillage turnips did not freeze kill.  Some are 18” tall and as big around as your wrist.  The question is how to control them this spring with so much growth. There really is no available data on burning down tillage turnips.  They have been used primarily out in the Great Plains and freeze out during the winter months.  Since that is not the case with our first experience with them, we have to improvise. Earlier when the turnips were smaller, glyphosate + dicamba + Leadoff provided good control.  I would think that tankmix would still provide good control even on larger turnips.  However, it is getting late to apply Leadoff with cotton and soybean planting just around the corner.  My best estimate is that a glyphosate + dicamba would still provide decent control of the turnips. If some regrowth does occur, then the burndown close to planting that will be applied in 3 weeks or so should take out the regrowth.
