The University of Tennessee Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics is in the process of updating the publication Farm Machinery Custom Rates by Crop Reporting Districts. It was published in 1997 so it is quite out of date. We get numerous request for custom rates throughout the year so it is a very useful publication. We need your help in obtaining a list of custom operators, farmers, and agribusiness firms. This list should include any individual or company that either does custom work or hires custom work done on their farms.
If you do custom work or have custom work done or know someone who does custom work, please email me at cdanehow@utk.edu the name, address, email, and or phone number of the custom operator. If you don’t have all the information, just send me what you have. These individuals or agribusinesses will at some point receive a survey form to fill out.
This can be a very useful and beneficial publication, but we need your help to get the surveys to the right individuals. I know several producers do some form of custom work or have custom work done, so don’t hesitate to list yourself if you fall into that category.
